Art and the environment

A graduate of UC Santa Cruz with a double major in environmental studies and art, I have never been able to separate the two.  I grew up in the country, surrounded by what many would consider a backyard full of nature.  The creek that I played in and the beach that I grew up near imprinted on my mind a deep love and reverence for those surroundings.  My parents wove art into my life at a young age and while I spend my days working in the environmental field, art is woven into the other days through printmaking, drawing and other crafty and artistic pursuits.

Thoughts and efforts is about the environmental work I engage in, my adventures and the art and people that inspire. I am currently a graduate student at the University of Washington pursuing a Masters of Environmental Horticulture. My research focuses on the revegetation efforts in the former Lake Mills reservoir in the Elwha River watershed.
