It is no surprise that I am a big proponent of dam removal. As an advocate for healthy watersheds and healthy runs of salmon, decayed, non-functioning dams make little sense to me. If you are still on the fence about dam removal or don’t understand why its important, I recommend watching Damnation. The film makes a clear, concise, and compelling argument for why aging, obsolete dams should be removed from our creeks, streams and rivers. Told in a storytelling style through the eyes of the filmmakers, Damnation is superbly well done. If you have not seen it, it is definitely worth the watch. If you’ve already seen it, it is worth the watch again. Damnation is continuing to screen in theaters across the nation and can also be seen online. |
